2026 Outstanding Student Organization Award
The Activist Lab was proud to be named the USF Health 2026 Student Organization of the Year. Each year we accomplish at least 70 initiatives focused on education, outreach, teaching, and research.
2026 Telly Award (Silver)
The Activist Lab was proud to be named a Telly Award Recipient (Silver) for our documentary, Under the Florida Sun, which focuses on the plight of farm workers due to extreme heat and working conditions. The award honors student projects showcasing emerging talent.

The Activist Lab was a 2026 Official Nominee for The Webby Awards, recognized for our documentary, Under the Florida Sun, which focuses on the plight of farm workers due to extreme heat and working conditions.
2024-2025 APHA Student Champions for Climate Justice Award
The Activist Lab received the 2024-2025 APHA Student Champions for Climate Justice Award for developing the Under the Florida Sun documentary on climate change and how it affects farm workers in Florida.
2023-2024 Community Engagement Project of the Year Award
The Activist Lab received the USF Health Shared Student Services Community Engagement Project of the Year Award for our efforts to decrease loneliness and social isolation in Florida.
2021-2022 Civic Engagement Award
The Activist Lab was funded by Research! America for a 2021-2022 civic engagement microgrant award for the 2022 Activist Lab Bootcamp and for the Advocation - Change it Up! podcast episode that features Bootcamp participants.
2021 ACTION Award
The Activist Lab was funded by the American Public Health Association for the 2021 ACTION (Advocacy on Campus that Impacts Our Nation) award for educational programs and outreach on sexual assault awareness.
2020 Program of the Year
The Activist Lab received the Program of the Year Award from USF Health Shared Student Services for its Gun Violence and Advocacy seminar featuring activists David Hogg and X González, survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting in Parkland, FL.
