What to Expect
Rotation Schedule 2026-2027
Our residency block schedule is carefully structured to ensure balanced exposure to all core psychiatric experiences while supporting progressive growth.
Program Information

The first program year builds a strong foundation in both medicine and psychiatry. Residents develop core clinical skills, gain experience managing acute presentations, and learn to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams while establishing confidence in patient care.
Rotations during the PGY-1 year include:
- Inpatient IM
- Hospitalist Consults
- Outpatient FM Clinic
- Inpatient Neurology
- Assessment
- High Acuity Inpatient
- Low Acuity Inpatient
- Elective

The PGY-2 year emphasizes increasing clinical responsibility and expanded exposure to diverse patient populations and levels of care. Residents refine diagnostic skills, strengthen treatment planning, and continue developing autonomy and leadership within the care team.
Rotations during the PGY-2 year include:
- Geriatric Inpatient
- Assessment
- Addiction
- Child Psych
- IOP/PHP
- Low Acuity
- High Acuity
- Psych Consults

The PGY-3 year focuses on advanced outpatient training and longitudinal patient care. Residents enhance their skills in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and independent clinical decision-making while preparing for senior-level responsibilities.

- Outpatient

The PGY-4 year is designed to prepare residents for independent practice. With advanced clinical experiences and leadership opportunities, residents refine their professional identity, develop supervisory skills, and explore individualized career interests.
Rotations during the PGY-4 year include:
- Forensics
- Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
- Jr Attend Low Acuity
- Jr Attend High Acuity
- Business of Medicine
- Community
- Elective
