Hi! I am new to the Tampa area and looking forward to serving the children of Tampa Bay. I am originally from southern France and moved to the states as a toddler, growing up in Lafayette, LA. I learned both French and English as a child, a testament to children's amazing intelligence! I grew up enjoying sports, especially soccer. Sports are a great way to stay healthy and learn to socialize, an activity I will promote to kids who are capable. Prior to medical school, I worked in a lab at St. Jude Children's Hospital, where I was introduced to the wonderful world of Pediatrics and grew my interest in Infectious Diseases. I went to medical school at UTHSC in Memphis, TN. I look forward to applying the skills I learned in medical school and beyond to care for the children of the Tampa area!

Daniela Villalobos-Barrera

Hi there! I’m originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, where I proudly completed medical school and a pediatrics residency. A few years later, life threw me a curveball and brought me to the United States. Leaving behind my country, my career and my family, was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. That transition was filled with challenges, but it also became the driving force behind my dream to continue my path in medicine. With time, perseverance, and the support of my loved one, I found my way back to pediatrics. Now, a few years later, I’m beyond excited to be joining the USF Pediatrics Residency Program. Pediatrics has always been my calling, and getting to do what I love again—this time surrounded by such a supportive and passionate team—feels incredibly special. When I’m not at the hospital, you’ll find me chasing after my two amazing kids, spending time with my husband and family, doing something outdoors, or relaxing at the beach (my happy place!). Florida sunshine has definitely stolen my heart.

Kritikka Ajit Kumar

Hi! I was born and raised in India in a military family, which gave me the unique opportunity to quietly absorb diverse cultures, languages, and ways of life along the way. I completed my medical training at MAMC, New Delhi, where my interest in pediatrics took shape, not just as a specialty but as a purpose. This led me to found Kriti Trust, a non-profit initiative focused on improving children’s health in underserved communities through medical outreach. My journey as an IMG has not been linear. I have faced my share of challenges; however, each one has strengthened my resolve and brought me back to my purpose. Somewhere along the way, I knew I wanted to be in Florida, and my time in Tampa made that feeling impossible to ignore; it simply felt like home. Sometimes, when you care deeply about something, life finds a way of bringing you closer to it, and I am honored to be a part of the USF Pediatrics family. I am particularly interested in hematology-oncology, while remaining open to exploring all facets of pediatrics. Outside of medicine, you will find me drumming, singing, running, trying new cuisines, or enjoying long walks by the water.

My professional interests include neonatology, and I’m excited to explore other areas within pediatrics. I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish, which has been especially meaningful in connecting with Spanish-speaking families. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and my two cats, reading, baking, and being outdoors.
