The center is certified as a Regional Poison Center by the American Association of Poison Control Centers and provides coverage to over 7 million residents of southwest and central Florida. The center is located at Tampa General Hospital and our core faculty member, Dr. Justin Arnold, DO, MPH, FACEP, FACMT is the Medical Director. In addition, Diana Dean, MD serves as associate medical director while Alexandra Funk PharmD, D.ABAT is the managing director. The center is staffed 24 hours a day by specially trained nurses, physicians, and pharmacists that receive thousands of inbound calls providing management advice within minutes. Accessible by the national toll-free Poison Help number, 1-800-222-1222, 24/7/365, this regional center is one of 55 certified poison centers covering all of the United States and U.S. possessions.

Residents rotate with Drs. Arnold and the staff of the Florida Poison information center during their toxicology month during the PGY-2 Year.

USF Outpatient Toxicology Clinic

The USF Outpatient Toxicology Clinic at TGH Healthpark provides outpatient evaluations related to poisonings, problems with medications, chemical and radiologic exposures, heavy metals, occupational exposures, natural toxins, and envenomations.  We are happy to provide the only outpatient clinical toxicology consultations in the State of Florida!

To request an appointment with the USF Outpatient Toxicology Clinic at TGH Healthpark: 

- Call the TGH Experience Center (813-236-5302) anytime Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm.

  • At the first menu "To schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment" - Press 1

  • At the second menu To schedule an appointment with Internal Medicine.." - Press 2

  • Once connected to a person, request to schedule an appointment with Healthpark Medical Toxicology
