Are you concerned about your memory or noticing changes in a loved one's memory?
If so, we can help.
There are many causes of memory loss and it is important to have a thorough evaluation to determine the cause. With proper treatment, some causes of memory loss can be reversed or improved. Our clinicians can do a comprehensive evaluation in order to determine the cause of the memory loss and provide an accurate diagnosis. Once you have a diagnosis, our providers will continue to follow the person and provide on-going medication management and management techniques. Education and support information are available for families and caregivers.

Book an Appointment
Patients do not need a referral to make an appointment with our clinical providers unless it is required by your insurance. We accept patients who are showing signs of memory loss, dementia or early-stage Alzheimer's disease.
To schedule an appointment, you need to complete and submit the New Patient Appointment Form. Once it is received, it will be reviewed and our New Patient Coordinator will call you to schedule an appointment. Click to print the New Patient Appointment Form
At the appointment, patients will receive a thorough evaluation and accurate diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is determined, our expert team of clinicians provide ongoing treatment and symptom management that may include clinical services or support from other specialists.
Please note: No more that two people can accompany the patient to the appointment.

Clinical Research and Drug Studies
The Byrd Institute is we are also involved in groundbreaking clinical research. Participation in a study is not required to be seen at the Byrd Alzheimer's Institute.
Caregiver Support
We also understand the impact Alzheimer’s has on the entire family. We produce a caregiver podcast and conduct a weekly support group and caregivers workshops to provide families with the knowledge and skills to help them provide the best care for their loved one. SAVE THE DATE
Our upcoming Alzheimer's Caregiver Workshop will be held December 8, 2026 from 9am -3:30pm at the Hyatt Place Hotel and Conference Center, Wesley Chapel. The workshop will include breakfast and lunch, an excellent program full of practical information for caregivers and other resources for caregivers.
