Welcome to the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine PA Program
Our program is an intensive 24-month program which prepares graduates to practice patient-centered, evidence-based medicine in the rapidly changing healthcare environment of the 21st century.
The USF PA program is an integral part of USF Health, an interprofessional health education center where PA students, and other students in the colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy learn to succeed as part of interdisciplinary health care teams.
Our faculty help students to navigate a rigorous curriculum which carefully blends sophisticated instruction in biomedical sciences with problem-based, clinically focused small group learning.
The clinical training sites for the USF PA program include state of the art facilities throughout Tampa Bay, including Tampa General Hospital, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, and the James A. Haley VA Medical Center. These venues provide students exposure to patients and clinical specialties while working with preceptors of exceptional skill.
I encourage prospective and qualified students to explore our innovative curriculum and application details.

The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2031. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.
The program’s accreditation history can be viewed on the ARC-PA website at http://www.arc-pa.org/accreditation-history-university-of-south-florida.
The USF Health downtown Tampa location brings the program closer to USF Health clinical sites and the expanding Tampa Medical & Research District, a life sciences epicenter enhancing access to cutting-edge education and research while driving regional growth and innovation.
The move was five years in the making and planned with medical education in mind. Classrooms are surrounded by small-group spaces for problem-based sessions, advising and peer study. PA students also have access to a simulation and procedural skills lab.

USF invention aims to replicate $30,000 glaucoma test with a $42 at-home alternative
A USF-developed smartphone app could help patients monitor glaucoma from home, making it easier to detect vision changes before permanent sight loss occurs. Currently in the research stage, Ayyala’s goal is to replicate the gold-standard Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer found in clinics. Ayyala hopes the technology could transform the test that typically costs $30,000 in equipment into an at-home experience for about $42. After the patient performs the five-minute test per eye, results are securel
