Craniofacial Trauma

Overview

Facial trauma can cause fractures of the forehead, orbits, nose, cheeks, upper jaw or lower jaw, as well as injuries to the surrounding skin, nerves, muscles, and teeth. These injuries may affect vision, breathing, facial movement, speech, chewing, appearance and overall quality of life.

Our Craniofacial Trauma team provides specialized, compassionate care focused on restoring function, facial structure, and appearance while minimizing long-term complications.

Clinical Content

We treat both recent facial injuries and issues related to prior trauma. Each patient receives a detailed evaluation that may include assessment of vision, breathing, facial sensation, jaw movement, dental alignment and facial symmetry, along with CT imaging when needed.

Treatment is individualized based on the location, severity and timing of the injury. Some fractures may be managed without surgery, while others require surgical intervention to restore normal anatomy and function.
